Terms of Service
Last updated · 14 June 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of NovelRadar (the “Service”), operated by [operator legal name](“NovelRadar”, “we”, “us”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Our full operator identity and address are set out in the Impressum.
1. The service
NovelRadar publishes editorial scores and rankings for fiction sub-niches, derived from publicly available data and refreshed periodically. The scores are informational only. They are estimates, may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate, and are not financial, business, or publishing advice and not a guarantee of any outcome (including sales, earnings, or rankings). You are solely responsible for decisions you make based on the Service.
2. Accounts
Some features require an account. You must provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to create an account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
3. Subscriptions, billing, and taxes
Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis at the price shown on our pricing page until cancelled. Payments are processed by our payment provider, which acts as the merchant of record and reseller for the transaction and may add applicable taxes (e.g. VAT). Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period unless cancelled before the renewal date. We may change prices with reasonable advance notice; changes apply from your next billing cycle.
4. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at any time; your subscription stays active until the end of the paid period, after which it will not renew. Refunds are handled in accordance with our payment provider's policies and your mandatory statutory rights. Where the law grants EU/EEA consumers a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital services, you acknowledge that by starting to use a paid feature immediately you may consent to begin performance before the withdrawal period ends, to the extent permitted by law.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- scrape, crawl, bulk-export, or systematically copy the Service or its data except as expressly permitted;
- resell, redistribute, or republish our scores or compiled data;
- reverse engineer, interfere with, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure;
- use the Service to violate any law or third-party rights.
6. Intellectual property
The Service, including our scoring methodology, the compilation and presentation of data, and all original text and design, is owned by NovelRadar and protected by applicable law. Underlying facts and third-party content (e.g. story titles, author names, public metrics) belong to their respective owners and are referenced under fair use or with link-out to the source. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access the Service for your own internal use.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the data is correct, current, or complete.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, NovelRadar shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (including, for consumers in the EU, liability for intent or gross negligence, for personal injury, or under mandatory consumer protection rules).
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the “last updated” date. Material changes affecting paid subscribers will be communicated with reasonable notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [Germany], without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the country where you reside. The specific competent courts and operator details are set out in the Impressum.
